The Perks of Visiting LA during Burning Man

One of the obvious benefits of being in LA while Burning Man is happening is the decreased traffic and easier parking. Getting around the city becomes less of a hassle, allowing you to explore various neighborhoods and attractions without feeling overwhelmed. It’s the perfect time to take that leisurely stroll along the iconic Venice Beach boardwalk or visit the world-famous Getty Center without the usual crowds.

Picture this: you make dinner plans and your friends actually arrive on time because the 405 wasn’t a stand-still parking lot. You manage to snag parking right out front instead of circling the block cursing. Could the LA traffic gods be smiling upon you? All from half the drivers being dusted out in Nevada! Who knew a little exodus was all it took for a parking miracle in our fair city? Take advantage and toast to carpe diem LA-style this week before the congested chaos resumes.

Here are the best spots to hit while Burners bounce:

Juliet

Culver City$$$$

With glitzy decor and artfully plated French fare, Culver City’s Juliet is the polished brasserie to book for impressing a date or client. Slick rustic details like faux wood floors and marble accents channel an Architectural Digest aesthetic, while the menu dazzles with floral-accented seafood towers and silver platters fit for a celebrity. However, its Parisian glamour comes at a cost – though the oysters shucked tableside pair nicely with Juliet’s extensive (and expensive) wine list. For special occasions when you want to treat yourself to a lavish meal, Juliet delivers on looks and taste.

Despite the scene, Community Goods is a nice change of pace when you want to slip into something cute and unwind in a casual, wooded oasis.
